Pinewood Studios celebrates International Women's Day
250 amazing women who are currently working at Pinewood Studios, gathered today for celebrity photographer Richard Young to #BeBoldForChange to mark International Women’s Day (8th March).
The ambition was to celebrate the contribution women make to film and television and to capture the diverse and truly eclectic range of roles occupied by women in the film and TV industry in 2017, which included amongst others: producer, production manager, first assistant director, 2nd assistant director, Oscar-winning costume designer, publicist, production assistant, hair and make-up artist, PA, set designer, set decorator, prop maker, draughtswoman, caterer, sculptor, digital lab technician, post production co-ordinator, VFX artist, SFX artist, accountant, marketing and construction teams, trainee editor, receptionist and security guard.
In its 80-year history, Pinewood Studios has made dreams a reality. Billions of people across the globe, of all ages, from all walks of life have read six words on cinema or television screens: “Made at Pinewood Studios, London, England”. From hosting super spies and superheroes, Pinewood has been home to a galaxy far, far away, helping create the movies that have made audiences laugh and cry in equal measure.
Some of the most glittering careers on both sides of the camera, have been launched behind the iconic gates
of Pinewood and the contribution of generations of talented women has made that possible.
