Directed by Lone Scherfig (The Riot Club, An Education, One Day), the period comedy-drama combines the quick-fire repartee of a screwball battle of the sexes with the reality of film-making in London during the Blitz. It's a witty, warm-hearted, and moving portrayal of a young woman screenwriter finding her way in matters of life, death, and the heart.
Financed with Pinewood Picturest, the production utilised Pinewood Digital and shot on F Stage at Pinewood Studios and on location in Wales. The original sound team completed the mix and it was graded by colourist Adam Inglis.
Starring a sterling British cast including Gemma Arterton, Bill Nighy, Jack Huston and Richard E. Grant, the film was also announced as part of the line-up for the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
