Still Open all Hours will be the last production to occupy Teddington Studios.
Recording in Studio 1 from 10th October 2014 – 21st November 2014 in front of a studio audience, the show is a BBC In-house Comedy production produced by Alex Walsh-Taylor, executive produced by Gareth Edwards, and written by Roy Clarke.
The sitcom revival - spun off from classic comedy Open All Hours – which debuted with a special episode on Boxing Day 2013, and has now returned with six new half-hour episodes for Series 1.
The show sees Sir David Jason reprise his role as Granville, running the corner shop with his son Leroy (James Baxter). We follow Granville’s antics as he comes up with new schemes to make money and continues his pursuit of old flame Mavis (Maggie Ollerenshaw) under the beady eye of her sister Madge (Brigit Forsyth)
The series will see the return of original characters Nurse Gladys Emmanuel (Lynda Baron) and Mrs Featherstone, aka The Black Widow (Stephanie Cole). Also returning for the new series from last December’s special is the pessimistic Eric played by Johnny Vegas, Mrs Hussein played by Nina Wadia and Cyril played by Kulvinder Ghir.
Joining the cast for the series is Tim Healy playing Gastric, a man whose stomach has a mind of its own. As his wife has left him, love sick Gastric turns to Granville who sees himself as his romantic adviser.
