Robot Overlords

Co-financed by Pinewood Pictures and Pinewood Productions, UK sci-fi Robot Overlords is the story of Robots from a distant Galaxy, taking over Earth.

Survivors are confined to their houses and risking incineration by Robot Sentries if they venture outside from the electronic implants they are forced to wear.

City centres are devastated and Sean Flynn, a teenager whose father has gone missing in the war between humans and robots gathers a group of teenagers to help fight the enemies and find his father. The gang of teenagers live in a seaside town constantly under Robot threat. Intimidating Sentries patrol the streets, Snipers are merciless death machines. The Mediator is deceptively childlike but unnervingly coercive. The Robot base is The Cube, a massive mother-ship that dominates the horizon.

The film stars Ben Kingsley, Gillian Anderson, Callan McAuliffe (The Great Gatsby) and Ella Hunt (Les Misérables), and is directed by Jon Wright, and produced by Piers Tempest and Ian Flooks.

The film is co-financed by Pinewood Pictures and Pinewood Productions, the BFI, Umbra Telegraph, Northern Ireland Screen and British Film Company. Embankment handling sales and BFI Film Fund developed. Post-production work was completed by Pinewood Post Production with Foley recording completed at Shepperton Studios by Glen Gathard and team in Theatre 2.

Filming took place in the Isle of Man and Northern Ireland.
