Pinewood Studios were proud to host the production of Disney’s Dumbo, the live-action re-imagining of the 1941 animated Disney classic. Visionary director Tim Burton takes the helm and the multi award-winning cast includes Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito, Eva Green and young newcomers Nico Parker and Finley Hobbins who make their film debuts.

The production used Stage 3 and Stage 4 at Pinewood Studios, and stages at Shepperton Studios. Pinewood Digital provided on-set dailies support.

The new film introduces Holt Farrier (Colin Farrell), a former circus star whose life is turned upside down when he returns from the war. Circus owner, Max Medici (Danny DeVito) enlists Holt to care for a newborn elephant, whose over-sized ears make him the laughing stock in an already struggling circus.

When Holt’s children discover that Dumbo can fly, entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere (Michael Keaton) and aerial artist Colette Marchant (Eva Green) swoop in to make Dumbo a star.

Commenting, Tim Burton said: “Dumbo was always one of my favourite Disney films. We’re trying to give it the same heart, feeling and emotion that we all loved about the original.”

Katterli Frauenfelder, Derek Frey, Ehren Kruger and Justin Springer are producing from a screenplay by Ehren Kruger. Nigel Gostelow is the executive producer.

Dumbo is slated for release on 29th March 2019.
