Black Book (Zwartboek)

Paul Verhoeven, director of such hot Hollywood favourites as Robocop, Total Recall, Basic Instinct and Starship Troopers, makes a triumphant return to his European roots with BLACK BOOK, an epic, sexy, action-filled WWII thriller, to be released across the United Kingdom on January 19th, 2007. Starring Carice van Houten as a beautiful young Jewish singer who joins the Resistance in the final months of the war, BLACK BOOK tells her story with Verhoeven’s familiar frankness and flair, as she becomes entangled in a deadly web of double-dealing and betrayal. BLACK BOOK received its UK premiere screening at The Times BFI 50th London Film Festival on October 23rd this year, following lavish praise from critics and audiences at the recent Venice and Toronto Film Festivals.
