Capturing the horror and tension evoked by Ridley Scott's brooding sci-fi classic that was originally shot at Shepperton Studios in 1979, Alien: Isolation had Foley and Sound Editorial completed on it by Glen Gathard, based at Shepperton Studios in Theatre 2.
Set 15 years after the Nostromo set off on its doomed voyage, the story follows Ripley's daughter, Amanda, now a Weyland-Yutani employee. On discovering the news of the Nostromo’s flight recorder being salvaged from deep space, she volunteers to join the recovery crew on a mission to unravel the truth behind her mother's disappearance. has completed
The game challenges the player to survive in an atmosphere of constant dread and mortal danger as an unpredictable, ruthless Xenomorph is stalking and killing deep in the shadows. Watching the original 1979 film, you notice how silence is used to unsettle, to create a sense of waiting and of uncertainty. Creative Assembly have noticed too. To arrive at Sevastopol Station, in the belly of a place so like the Nostromo, the vast universe peering back at you through the portholes and from behind dust motes, the silence can be overwhelming at times.
Alien: Isolation is available on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
