Pinewood has been nominated for the ‘Services’ award at this year’s Develop Industry Excellence Awards. The awards reward outstanding work in the European games industry over the past twelve months, and 96 top companies are in the running.
Pinewood is up against Audiomotion, LocalizeDirect, Testronic Labs, Universally Speaking and VMC Game Labs for the ‘Services’ award, and a jury of over 100 games development executives will now vote for the winner.
In addition to this recognition, two games that were mixed at Pinewood have also received nominations. Pinewood provided cut scene sound design, foley and mixing and in-game foley for The Creative Assembly’s Total War: Fall of the Samurai, which has been nominated in the ‘Audio Accomplishment’ category. Pinewood also consulted on the mix in the Pressburger Theatre for Ubisoft Reflections’ Driver®: San Francisco, nominated for both the ‘Audio Accomplishment’ and ‘Use of Narrative’ awards.
Giles Farley, Managing Director Group Post Production commented: "It is fair to say that Pinewood has traditionally been associated more with film and television production than games, however, the skills and techniques required to produce commercially successful, creative content are converging and we are well placed to take advantage of that. We are thrilled to be finalists and congratulate our recent clients on their nominations as well.”
Pinewood offers the Games Industry the opportunity to see and hear their work in some of the best theatres in the world. Pinewood’s award winning Post Production facility offers localization in over 40 languages; project management; custom sound design; sound editorial; Oscar winning mixers; world class foley recording and editing; strong ties to the world’s film community as well as PR and brand recognition opportunities by association with one of the leading names in entertainment.
The winners of the Develop Awards 2012 will be announced at a gala ceremony on Wednesday 11th July at the Brighton Hilton Metropole.
