Pinewood Films first production A Fantastic Fear of Everything will be released in the UK on Friday 8th June.
The psycho-comedy stars Simon Pegg as Jack, a children’s author turned crime novelist whose detailed research into Victorian serial killers has turned him into a paranoid wreck. When a mysterious Hollywood executive shows an interest in Jack’s script, what should be his ‘big break’ rapidly turns into his ‘big breakdown’ as Jack is forced to confront his worst demons; his love life, his laundry and the origin of all fear.
A Fantastic Fear of Everything was written and directed by musician-turned-filmmaker Crispian Mills, marking his feature debut. He is joined by producer Geraldine Patten and co-director and animator Chris Hopewell as part of a collaboration with Collision Films, whose award-winning work includes Radiohead’s There There and The Killers’ Smile Like You Mean It.
Commencing on 6th July 2011, production shot on location in London and at Shepperton Studios. Shepperton’s F Stage was home to Old Lily’s Launderette, and G Stage housed Jack’s apartment.
Crispian Mills said about shooting at Shepperton: “I cannot think of anywhere else in the world that I’d prefer to shoot a movie that has the history, the facilities, the sense of occasion, the magic.”
The film was also mixed with Pinewood Post Production. Brendan Nicholson and Adam Scrivener mixed in Shepperton’s Theatre 1 and Luke Brown and Glen Gathard worked on Foley.
Crispian Mills comments about the range of facilities available across Pinewood Studios Group: “Everything is here; all the talent is here and there’s a sense of family that really adds to the quality of the work.”
A Fantastic Fear of Everything is being released by Universal Pictures in the UK, as well as Germany, Australia, New Zealand and Latin America. Indomina Releasing is handling the US release.
