Social Responsibility

The Company continues to support and encourage the next generation in the British screen-based industries. By giving training and work experience, the Company seeks to develop the skilled production resources base in order to maintain the high degree of excellence that draws overseas productions to this country.

Support is given to the following:

The National Film and Television School by way of scholarships for two undergraduates.

The Rye Studio School with visits to the Studios. The Pinewood Studios Group are proud to be a Patron of the Rye Studio and congratulate them on being awarded an Ofsted recommendation for 2015 as ‘Outstanding’

The Pinewood Studios Group give sponsorship to the Iris Prize Festival, Cardiff’s international gay and lesbian festival by providing post production services to the winner of the British Short Film.

The BFI have various schemes which introduce young people across the country to film and television production. The Pinewood Studios Group give their support by offering studio space for training events, open to all local young people who are interested in filmmaking and television either for general interest or as a career.

Our Directors actively participate on various Boards linked with the industry and we provide support for the numerous Guilds which are at the heart of filmmaking in the UK such as the Production Guild, the British Guild of Cinematographers, the Guild of Television Cameramen, Guild of Production Designers and Cineguilds

Pinewood and Shepperton Studios work with local schools, colleges and universities, including Littleton Church of England School in Shepperton, Buckinghamshire New University, Amersham and Wycombe College, Chalfont Community College and the London Film School.

Our charitable support nationally goes to various charities linked to the film and television industries and in particular the Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund and MediCinema.

We continue to support local charities, clubs and organisations to encourage local residents to embrace the studios as an advantage to their environment with the impact on providing jobs in the surrounding areas and sustainable growth within their communities for local shops and businesses.
