Broadcast Engineer

Purpose of Role:

Production of timely, accurate and professional service in the Pinewood TV department.

Duties will include:

  • Preparing cameras, gallery and studio equipment for shows.
  • Providing first line engineering support on record or live TX days.
  • Providing some engineering support to the Digital Content Services Department.
  • Including comprising audio and picture post production, data transfer, film restoration and data storage/networking system.

Other:

  • Driving licence is essential as travelling between sites may be required.
  • This role will, on occasions, include evening and weekend work.
  • Applicants should ideally have at least 5 years’ experience, some of which should be in TV Studio Environments, and be conversant with broadcast IT systems.
  • A thorough knowledge of all operating systems, including Linux, will also be beneficial

Post Production Coordinator for Digital Content Services (DCS)

Purpose of role:

Reporting to the Operations Manager and to coordinate the smooth day to day running of the DCS.

Duties will include:

  • Customer and Employee liaison/support.
  • Deal with client queries regarding DCS facilities.
  • To create quotations for clients.
  • Manage the bookings for DCS facilities for clients.
  • Deal with the billing and costing for DCS services and ensure invoices are billed correctly for finance.
  • To maintain relationships with clients promoting the Pinewood Studios Group brand.
  • Control staff scheduling for DCS projects and book staff onto projects.
  • Project managing.
  • Promote sales within the DCS function.
  • Provide a top rate customer service for all DCS customers and clients.
  • Checking of Post Production facilities before and after use.
  • Ability to work between sites (Pinewood and Shepperton)

Other:

  • Provide first class customer service.
  • Report or solve any issues/requirements.
  • Observe the Studio regulations at all times.
  • Observing and complying of company health and safety policy and practices.
  • Providing cover in the Post Production office when required.
  • Any other duties as deemed appropriate by Post Production Management.
  • Must have a driving licence, as travelling between studios may be required.

Commercial Accountant

Purpose of role:

  • Production of timely, accurate and relevant business information to include Management accounts, budgets and forecasts and weekly and periodic commercial reports and analysis.
  • Liaise with heads of department to assist in managing departmental budget responsibilities.

Key accountabilities:

  • Accurate and timely production of departmental management accounts including P&L, commentary and supporting schedules.
  • Production and review of departmental P&L’s incorporating the processing of accruals and prepayments as required.
  • Production and review of monthly year to go reports and presentation to the Commercial Finance Manager and Commercial Director.
  • The production of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, in line with agreed timetables, liaising with departmental heads and budget holders.
  • Manage the production of commercial reporting, including flash reporting.
  • Providing support and analysis to the business as required, including providing schedules and reports and attending meetings enabling departmental heads to manage their areas of responsibility.
  • To continually update and progress management accounts, with the inclusion of KPI’s.
  • Assist with the annual budget process.
  • Assist the Commercial Finance Manager with audit requirements and other reporting.
  • Cover team members as required.

Key performance measures:

  • Production of a periodic management accounts.
  • Delivery of weekly and periodic commercial reporting.
  • Delivering annual budgets and periodic forecasts to agreed timetable.

Work Experience Terms

Unfortunately, we cannot offer work experience or placements to students aged 16 and below who have not started studying towards A-Levels (or an equivalent level 3 course).

For placements outside of the UK, please contact the relevant studios directly. Contact details can be found by clicking the above country headings.


Work Experience and Shadowing Scheme

Work experience will be offered to students aged 16 years and over who are studying A-Levels (or equivalent), who can demonstrate an understanding of the work carried out by Pinewood Studios Group and the benefits they would gain from taking part in the scheme.

The work experience will be one week in duration, with each day spent in a different department to gain an understanding of how a studio complex is maintained and operated.

Shadowing Scheme

Our new shadowing scheme will be offered from September 2013 and will be available to those studying in the areas listed below. The shadowing scheme will consist of 5 days unpaid direct work with the specific departments requested. Please note: If you have not studied, or are not currently studying related subjects then please do not apply for the Shadowing Scheme.

Shadow Scheme Placements offered in departments below:

  • TV Operations
  • Drapes (must be able to use sewing machine)
  • Energy and Environmental Services Department
  • IT Department
  • Health and Safety department

Work Placement

Placements will be offered from one to six months in duration, and will be based specifically within one department.

Applicants must be studying a degree (or equivalent) relevant to the department they have applied for, and have completed their first year of study.
