Pinewood Toronto Studios Welcomes Total Recall

Pinewood Toronto Studios, one of North America’s newest and most impressive studio spaces is currently hosting Sony’s latest film, Total Recall.

The film is currently using a number of stages at the Studios including 1, 2, 3, 7, 8 the Jumbo Stage and the Mega stage – North America’s largest purpose-built soundstage at 46,000 sq feet. In total the production has taken 146,000 sq ft of studio space.

Total Recall is the latest in a line of high profile productions to make use of the Studios and other productions to use the facilities include Warner Bros, NBC, Twentieth Century Fox, ABC and Dreamworks. Recent Films and TV to use the Studios include Dream House, The Thing and Breakout Kings.

Based on the acclaimed story by Philip K. Dick, We Can Remember It For You Wholesale, Total Recall stars Colin Farrell, Jessica Biel, Kate Beckinsale, Bryan Cranston, John Cho, Bokeem Woodbine and Bill Nighy.  The film is directed by Len Wiseman from a screenplay by Kurt Wimmer, Mark Bomback and James Vanderbilt.  Producers are Neal Moritz and Toby Jaffe and the film is executive produced by Ric Kidney and Len Wiseman.

Total Recall is scheduled for an August, 2012 release.

The purpose-built complex for film and television production is situated on an 11 acre site, with more than 250,000 sq. ft. of production space, 8 stages, localized support facilities and office space. This coupled with the attractive Canadian and Ontario tax incentives, makes Pinewood Toronto Studios one of Canada’s leading production facilities for film and television.

The UK-based Pinewood Studios Group concluded a comprehensive sales and marketing agreement for Toronto’s largest studio operation, formerly known as Filmport Studios in June 2009 and since that time, has developed Pinewood Toronto Studios into a critical part of Toronto’s film and television industry. It is also helping to play a major role in the regeneration of the city’s Portlands as a media convergence district.
