Pinewood Toronto sponsors 32nd Annual Genie Awards

Pinewood Toronto Studios sponsored the ACHIEVEMENT IN DIRECTION award at The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Televisions (ACCT) annual Genie Awards, broadcast live on CBC on March 8th. Pinewood was proud to present Philippe Falardeau with the award for Monsieur Lazahr.

In addition to ACHIEVEMENT IN DIRECTION, Philippe Falardeau's Monsieur Lazhar won six trophies in total including BEST MOTION PICTURE (Luc Déry, Kim McCraw) and best ADAPTED SCREENPLAY (Philippe Falardeau).

In other categories, A Dangerous Method garnered five coveted Genie Awards at the star-studded event at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto, including best PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE for Viggo Mortensen. The previously announced Cineplex Golden Reel Award winner Starbuck took home an additional two Genie Awards tonight.  For the full list of winners click here
