What sources of funding are there for making feature films in the UK?

National Funds

The UK Film Council distributes National Lottery money to filmmakers for a range of activities including feature film development and production. International filmmakers may be eligible for funding if their project can wholly or substantially qualify as a British film.

More information is available at http://www.ukfilmcouncil.org.uk/funding/

Regional Funds

A number of the UK’s Regional Screen Agencies offer funding for feature development and production. More information can be obtained from individual Regional Screen Agencies as schemes vary from region to region.

Bank Finance

A small number of specialist UK banks offer film finance. This gap financing covers a gap between the finance raised and the amount required to make the film.

I’ve filmed everywhere in the world, I’ve spent the last 22 years in and around Hollywood and the Hollywood system. All things considered, everything from artisans through to technicians are as good as anything you can get in Hollywood
