One of the key objectives of the corporate responsibilitiy of The Pinewood Studios Group is to ensure that all those who want to work in the film, television and wider creative industries have the opportunity to do so.
Nominated charity:
Our nominated charity for 2009 - 2011 is First Light.
The organisation is the UK Film Council's lottery funded film making initiative, providing expertise and funding to help 5 to 19 year olds make films. Our support will not be purely financial. We will also be looking to raise the profile of First Light, mentoring participants and giving them use of the studio facilities. Fund raising events will be organised by the Pinewood Studios Group which will give employees an opportunity to participate in exciting activities.
Our association with First Light provides us focus, will enable us to nurture talent and will break down the barriers to ensure future film and TV makers come from a diversity of backgrounds. It will also ensure that the skills which play such an integral part of film and television making are in place for the future.
We will, of course, continue to support the Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund and the charities in areas local to Pinewood, Shepperton and Teddington.
