Water and underwater filming

Filming in water can be a complex and costly exercise but here at Pinewood we have the facilities and experience to ensure that even the most ambitious water sequence can be achieved with breathtaking results.

Pinewood is never out of its depth when it comes to water filming. From underwater action sequences to large exterior water sequences, the group has an impressive range of interior, exterior and underwater tanks that enable any shot to be achieved in complete safety, thanks to our on site water filming experts.

Amazing results can be achieved for Films, TV and Commercials from underwater blue screens that are permanently on site to “wet for dry” that gives the impression of weightlessness when bubbles are removed in post production.

Water facilities currently available at the studios include numerous stages with tanks incorporated into the floors, an exterior tank with a blue screen backing measuring 240 x 60 feet (73 x 18 m) and an underwater filming facility.
