Pinewood TV – Qualifying for Regional

The Communications Act 2003 requires that a suitable proportion of programmes are made outside the M25, that these constitute a suitable range of programmes and that a suitable proportion of expenditure is spent on producing these programmes in a suitable range of production centres.

Pinewood can help fulfil any of the three criteria needed to enable productions to qualify as regional if located at its TV Studios.

  • The production company must have a substantive business and production based outside the M25.

Pinewood can contract with your existing satellite offices in order to comply with regional guidelines. If you do not have a satellite office why not set one up at Pinewood Studios, where we can offer good quality accommodation, a cutting edge address, close proximity to London, unparalleled media facilities and outstanding site security.

  • At least 70% of production budget (excluding on screen talent, archive and copyright costs) must be spent outside the M25.

Pinewood is located outside the M25 and therefore any budgetary spend from productions based at its TV Studios will contribute toward this. With Pinewood able to supply stages/studios, accommodation, location filming and all post production requirements, this target should be easily reached.

  • At least 50% of the production staff (i.e. not on-screen talent) should be working outside the M25.

Pinewood has a database of crew who live or work outside the M25 and can therefore supply a fully regional television studio crew for your productions.

Quote

“I have kept an office at the studio for the past 15 years as I consider that Pinewood is my second home, and I hope it will be so for many more years to come. So many friends, so many happy memories…. Thank you Pinewood, for being such a major part of my life.”
